Community Time

March has been rough so far, and it will, sad to say, not mend its mean ways. Looking ahead, April might be rough, too. My friends and family are stressed and scrambling. I am, too. Schedules are smashed in to pieces by school closures and telecommuting, or simply lack of work. Some supplies are in short supply. This is how it is right now. Circumstances are challenging, especially if you don't have a safety net.

I can't offer much in the way of resources, but I can offer a non-FB place to chat with friends, or your writing group, or even your family. My website www.storylogic.org has a chat function on it (the little chat bubble in the bottom right). If you sign up as a "member" you can start a conversation in chat and have other members join in. I don't believe the chat rooms are private, but they're free to use. You just need to sign up so the system knows who you are, and I don't have anonymous haters terrorizing the countryside.

Other options for virtual gatherings are:

  • grabbing a free Zoom.com room

  • snagging a free Discord server

  • using gchat

  • soldiering on with Facebook's IM.

Sometimes it is nice to be in a whole new setting--even if that setting is virtual--especially if you're holding a write-in or critique group. If people want, I'm happy to open a forum, too, where you can post pictures and links, and comment on each other's schtuff. Mi casa, su casa. Just let me know if it's desired.

I don't have a lot, but what I have I'm happy to share.

Stay safe out there, my friends. Wash your hands. Be kind.
